We have two school council representatives from each of the Year 1 and Year 2 classes. Meetings take place every few weeks to make big decisions about the school and how to make it an even better place. We sit around a very important table and share ideas following an agenda. After the meeting we enjoy juice and biscuits to reward our hard work! We represent the other children in our classes and ask for their ideas and deliver them back to the council meetings.
As a council we have planned charity events, Christmas events, World Book Day, shared ideas how to make our playtimes even better and discussed things that are going well in school. We have met some of the other leaders in our school, The Governors! The School Council love to meet visitors to the school and show them our fabulous learning.
The school council visited the Westfields care home for the launch of the GoGo Hare visiting Swaffham.
The council had a wonderful time meeting the residents, drinking juice and biscuits and listening to stories. We hope to visit again soon to see the residents that we have met
The student council collected ideas from their classes to see what the pupils would like the newly arrived shed to be. The council came up with the decision that it would be named the 'Chill Zone'. They planned, baked and held a cake sale after school to raise money for things to go in the Chill Zone to make it more comfortable. They raised a staggering £100!
